Cat Watching Fireworks! This is hilarious!
This Cat is loving the fireworks display. Just shows that not all pets hate fireworks.
The Firestorm from Black Cat
Another small but very impressive barrage is the firestorm. Made by the well known black cat, it has a fantastic 16 fiery shots which vary from silver tails to crackling stars, which all finish with a girly touch of pink. A good one for the ladies, or even one for a birthday/wedding surprise, and at just £3.45 it will leave the purses happy too.
Typhoon Twister from Black Cat Fireworks
A small but brilliant little 16 shot barrage by black cat. Silver comet tails break with blue stars and a low noise whistle makes this firework perfect for small garden parties and children’s events. Typhoon twister can be a real show filling barrage and at only £3.45 each, you can afford to buy a few and bulk out your display with some stunning yet simple effects. Click here for more info.
Firework Ban at Castle Hill Huddersfield
A BAN on fireworks has been imposed at Castle Hill.
And extra police patrols will be brought in to stop “firework parties”, which can damage the historic hill and cause distress and injury to wildlife.
Those flouting the ban will be handed instant £80 fines.
The move has been made by Kirklees Council, which denies it is being a killjoy, but is concerned at growing numbers of people using the hill to let off fireworks – many of them big commercial ones.
And it is a criminal offence – setting off fireworks in public places – which contravenes section 80 of the Explosives Act 1875.
The act prohibits throwing or setting off fireworks on any highway, street, thoroughfare or public place. A public place is anywhere to which the public is entitled or permitted access.
A council spokesman said: “Fireworks are becoming increasingly popular all year round with thousands of people using them to celebrate all sorts of occasions.
“While most people enjoy fireworks responsibly, in the wrong hands and in the wrong place they can cause damage and real misery.
“As bonfire night approaches the problems associated with misuse become all the more apparent particularly for Huddersfield’s landmark Castle Hill.
“The stunning setting and visibility of Castle Hill make it a popular venue to let off fireworks. Indeed it is a venue that has been used in the past for civic firework celebrations, most recently to mark the 50th anniversary of twinning between Huddersfield and Besancon in France.
Illegal Fireworks Stash
More than a thousand fireworks have been seized in County Fermanagh in the last 48 hours.
On Monday, police in Enniskillen seized rockets, bangers and other fireworks, including display ones.
On Tuesday night more than 600 fireworks, including 450 illegal Black Cat bangers were seized in Irvinestown.
Inspector Roy Robinson said: “Each year, fireworks injure numerous individuals and these finds are a positive result.
“In the wrong hands and used indiscriminately, these fireworks could undoubtedly have had the potential to cause serious injury,” he added.
“The illegal use of fireworks is not only a dangerous activity, but is a type of behaviour that causes nuisance and distress to many people in our community.”

Black Cat Gold Collection Master Mines on Sale
The Master Mine Pack by Black Cat Fireworks from their excellent Gold Collection.
This is just one of the new and exciting lines on sale right now at Epic Fireworks. These powerful mines pack a real punch and have some beautiful effects. Now, you normally have to buy the product, or at least visit the shop to read all the info on the back of the packet. So we thought we could save you some time by blogging it right here.
Text from the back of the Master Mines Box:
Professional pyrotechnicians use mines as a means of providing medium level impact moments during a display. A traditional mine lanuches a “swoosh” of colored stars into the sky. A special mine also does this but with an added burst over the top. An extra-special mine produces both of these effects with a fountain effect as a starter. the Gold Collection mines are what you call “Master Mines”, because they achieve all 0f this and more, creating the equivalent of pyrotechnic masterpieces!
These mines combine Silver Whistle countdowns with Multi-stage effects making them integral parts of any display design and the surprise packets of the Gold Collection.

There was one more piece of text on the box which went next to a couple of images of the mines in action.
The text reads: Photo taken with a kodak LS443 Digital Camera. Using Automatic Focus and 4-second Exposure.
This is my first encounter of a company telling you what camera and settings were used to take the pictures. I have narrowed down the reasons for this to 2 possibilites. A deal was struck between Black Cat Fireworks and Kodak involving mutual promotion of some kind. Or, Black Cat Fireworks are simply trying to provide the customer with as much information as possible to help them make their purchase. Another interesting note for you geeks out there, the spelling on the packaging suggests that these mines (or at least the packaging) was made for the American market, note the spelling on the word colour.
So there you have it, a glimpse into the world of a master mine. These are well packaged and beautifully presented. There is certainly an air of quality to them, not least due to the shiny, shiny gold labels. This is the largest mine pack in the Epic Fireworks range this year so should be a popular item. I have already bought mine….get it? Mine?
